This’ll Hop Your Ass Pale Ale Review – HorrorHound Cincinnati 2020 – WCBS Beer

The HorrorHound convention in Cincinnati was scheduled to be held in March, then it was moved to May. In the end, it was cancelled outright and fans of the World Class Bullshitters could not attend. Channel Dad Bryon Lape, however, did make a beer for the occasion and now he is reviewing it.

Many may not know, but Channel Dad Bryon Lape is quite a skilled homebrewer and this pale ale was quite good. There was a slight chill haze and he is working on correcting that. This one came in at over 10% and was very smooth.

The Making Of World Class Bullshitters 100k Subscriber Deep Brown Ale

In early 2019, the World Class Bullshitters channel reached 100,000 subscribers. As Channel Dad, Bryon Lape felt compelled to make a Deep Brown Ale to help celebrate this accomplishment.

This video was recorded in March of 2019 when the beer was made and was meant to be the first installment of Brainmuffin’s Beer Kitchen (also available on Untappd for Homebrew check-ins). It took Channel Dad Bryon Lape a long time to finally try to edit it.

The beer itself was not ready by the time of Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago, but the World Class Bullshitters did get to try some at HorrorHound Weekend in Indianapolis a few months later. Some fans of World Class Bullshitters stop by, waving to you Dr. Coffin Nails, and they also tried some. The beer did end up around 9% ABV and was well enjoyed.

Before he was Channel Dad, Bryon Lape started a podcast with Kendo Slice known as the Fan Caste. It lasted nearly 3 years, but finally came to and end. Kendo was picked by Jeff Hicks to be on the main World Class Bullshitters show and helped lay the foundation for the foursome that now make up the cast.

Watching this video it is clear to see that although Channel Dad Bryon Lape does have some videographer and editor skills, he is no Nik Uttam. The camera in use is a Nikon D7000 and it does have quirks that make some video concepts difficult to do. Also during the day of brewing, the clouds kept rolling in and out, making the lighting change quite a bit. Bryon Lape did the best he could.

In some scenes, Channel Dad Bryon Lape tried to be funny, but he is no Dion Green, horses not included. Laugh and comment anyway.

The homebrewing equipment used by Channel Dad Bryon Lape (Brainmuffin) is a Grainfather. This is an all electric brewing system and is geared as at 110 volt for the US. This is not a how-to video for the Grainfather, but give feedback for things Bryon Lape does wrong so he can learn. He does not get to make beer very often, so all the feedback will help.
