Wonder Woman And Captain Marvel Team Up

Gal Gadot and Brie Larson portray superheroes in two very different universes. Gal as Wonder Woman in the DCEU and Brie as Captain Marvel in the MCU. A few years ago, a fan created some art with the two characters hamming it up and Brie commented that some day she’d like to team up with Gal Gadot and recreate the image. At the 2020 Oscars, that time finally came. Gal and Brie Larson took selfies together and shared them on their respective Instagram accounts, tagging each other. Brie Larson did show that she can smile and Gal Gadot showed her best hamming face. The two women are beautiful and fun together. Watch out Fandom Menace, Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman might team up to right the injustices of the world.

Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads two articles about the Gal Gagot and Brie Larson Instagram encounter at the 2020 Oscars. Brie and Gal really shows their silly side in the photos and the fans truly enjoyed it. Gal Gadot can be seen this summer in Wonder Woman 1984 and second prequel in the DCEU Wonder Woman movie saga. The latest news is Brie Larson will be starring in Captain Marvel 2 as part of the MCU Phase 5 in 2022 or 2023. It is not yet know who will be the rival for Carol Danvers, but there is speculation that Rogue will be making an appearance.

Stay tuned for the next episode of Channel Dad Reads.

Disney Star Wars Is ALL J.J. Abrams’ Fault – Sequel Trilogy – Channel Dad Reads

It is not everyday Channel Dad agrees with ScreenRank, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile. Many Star Wars fans blame Rian Johnson for ruining the Disney Sequel Trilogy, but the blame should really be put elsewhere. Everything that is wrong with Disney Star Wars is J.J. Abram’s fault.

From the start, Disney Star Wars was a copy of the original trilogy. The Force Awakens is a shot by shot redo of A New Hope. It is J.J. Abrams who put Luke Skywalker on an island. J.J. Abrams made Han Solo a deadbeat dad. JJ Abrams chose to not have a scene with characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. No scenes with Han, Luke, and Leia. JJ Abrams put the question of Rey and Snoke into a Mystery Box. All of this was JJ Abrams’ fault.

ScreenRant did not conduct a JJ Abrams interview and ask him why he did all this nonsense. In all aspects, the JJ Abrams Star Wars start was a crap fest. He does not know how to tell a story, only mysteries. The Rise Of Skywalker had to fix problems created in The Last Jedi. There is so much retcon, viewers only need to watch The Force Awakens and The Rise Of Skywalker. What little is needed to be known from The Last Jedi is given in a few short bits of exposition.

Geeks and Gamers reviewed Rise of Skywalker leaks over the months before the movie’s release and the crew didn’t like it. The trailer for the last movie in Kathleen Kennedy Star Wars were not received well. Jeremy himself showed up on the High Council to state how much he disliked the latest Lucasfilm offering. He was not disappointed with the Rise of Skywalker for how bad it was.

Buckle in for another great Channel Dad Reads video. Whose name will he get wrong this time? Which words will he mispronounce? Will he forget someone’s name? Watch the video and comment on every error Channel Dad Bryon Lape makes.

The Petition To Replace Brie Larson – Monica Rambeau Wandavision – MCU News and Marvel Phase 5

For several months there has been a petition on-line to replace Brie Larson as Captain Marvel with a gay woman of color. Is Marvel about to cave into the demands of less than 30,000 people? Will Kevin Feige stick by Brie Larson and let her continue to be Captain Marvel in the MCU? When will Captain Marvel 2 be released? Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads articles about these very questions.

Brie Larson was hired a few years ago by Kevin Feige to play Captain Marvel. Many people complained about Brie not showing emotion in the first installment of the Captain Marvel franchise. Why blame the actress for what the director wanted? There are some women who think smiling is showing signs of inner misogyny. Why smile because a man told you to do so? That’s so silly.

Perhaps it is time to let Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau be best friends. Imagine Carol takes Monica to meet the Kree and they give Monica powers as well. Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel on the screen at the same time. Would that be enough for the backers of the petition to be satisfied?

In other MCU news, Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads from a second article that claims a release date for Captain Marvel 2 has been set. The article out of India states that Captain Marvel 2 will be out Feb 18, 2022. That seems a bit odd. Could Marvel be trying to up the Brie Larson support by having the movie come out during Black History Month? Will there possibly be a crossover with Black Panther in the second Captain Marvel movie?

Marvel phase 4 does introduce some new shows on Disney+. The oner most fans seem to want is Wandavision. Could that be a vehicle to introduce Monica Rambeau to the casual fans? What about a Marvel Phase 5 Monica Rambeau Wandavision crossover?

Another Captain Marvel Monday has come and gone. Channel Dad Bryon Lape finds the oddest Captain Marvel articles to read. Sometimes he gets things right. Sometimes he gets things very wrong. Let him know what you think. Watch the video and leave a comment, even if it is to tell him what a butt he is.

Daisy Ridley Engagement – Is She Pregnant? – Skip The Movie Reviews

Daisy Ridley, the new iconic hero of the Disney Star Wars franchise has become engaged to her boyfriend Tom Bateman. Daisy and Tom met on the set of the smash hit Murder on the Orient Express. The happy couple has been seen frolicking about with Daisy sporting a new ring. Her bump have some speculating on whether or not she is pregnant. Is it true or just a rumor?

Tom Bateman is a bit more than Daisy Ridley’s boyfriend 2019 style. Daisy and Tom are now engaged and will most likely wait till after the Rise of Skywalker to get married. Given Daisy’s publicly shared health issues, will she take part in another high stress franchise like Star Wars? In a recent interview, Daisy shared how the stress of promoting the Last Jedi made her quite ill and she lost weight. Also given the fan backlash to the Disney Star Wars trilogy, why would anyone want to go through that again? The Mandalorian is the only portion of the Disney Star Wars saga that fans nearly universally enjoy. The Reylo fans have been very hard to Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver, why would they want that more?

When will Tom Bateman become Daisy Ridley’s husband? Only time will tell, but you can be sure the press will cover it and the fans will have their say. Wishing Daisy and Tom a happy marriage and life.

J.J. Abrams Defends Kathleen Kennedy Star Wars From The Fans

Rian Johnson laughs at the Star Wars fan base.

Bob Iger approves of the manner the Star Wars franchise was dismantled and burned to the ground.

It is now up to J.J. Abrams to defend the Kathleen Kennedy Star Wars movies and save them from the audience.

The audience response to The Rise of Skywalker was tepid at best. Many of the critics who really liked what Rian Johnson did in The Last Jedi were very disappointed that J.J. Abrams created another fluff movie. The whole Disney Star Wars era started with The Force Awakens and many fans were excited that Star Wars was back. Those hopes were crushed by The Last Jedi and now audiences have rejected J.J. Abrams’ reboot of the beloved franchise. Will J.J. Abrams learn anything from his two failed reboots?

Kathleen Kennedy hire JJ Abrams to launch a new Star Wars and get back at George Lucas for all the years he didn’t listen to her ideas. Bob Iger allowed Kathleen Kennedy to put her political views above any semblance of story and character development. It was more important to Kathleen Kennedy that Rey be an all powerful Mary Sue than have troubles to overcome and have character development. J.J. Abrams delivered what Kathleen Kennedy wanted in The Force Awakens. Though Disney is the company that purchased Lucasfilm and the rights to Star Wars from George Lucas, the new movies can cleared by called Kathleen Kennedy Star Wars.

Star Wars is set a long time ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away. Everyone in it is an alien, including the ones who look human. Earth bound politics has no place in a story set in that Universe. JJ Abrams did a scene by scene reboot of A New Hope, but forgot to tell a story. Rian Johnson then subverted expectations in every scene to keep the audience guessing and confused. Several years ago, Rian Johnson stated he wanted to make a movie that half of the audience loved while the other half hated it. Dividing the audience was Rian Johnson’s one and only goal. Divide the audience he did, but only 10% loved The Last Jedi. Now enter J.J. Abrams who is trying to wrap up a story that ended in 1983. The Rise of Skywalker is pay off scene after pay off scene without any earned setup. Sure, Disney edited the crap out of J.J. Abrams’ movie, but the entire arc was missing from The Force Awakens onward. Lucasfilm has failed this franchise.

Do not blame the audience dislike on Geeks and Gamers or the World Class Bullshitters or Channel Dad or Ethan van Sciver or Merry Mayhem. Surely do not look at that Star Wars Girl either. All of this is the fault of Disney’s Bob Iger and Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy. The Star Wars franchise is dead. The merchandise is dead. And they did it.

Perhaps everyone now knows why The Fandom Menace exists.

Brie Larson Wants More Money – Fans Want Brie Larson Replaced

For a second time, a petition to replace Brie Larson with a gay woman of color is making the rounds and nearing 30,000 signatures. Bryon Lape reported on this petition back in May 2019, but it has come up again. Fans who support this petition want to see a Monica Rambeau as Captain Marvel and not the Carol Danvers imposter of the modern incarnation. Various rumors have stated that Monica will be a part of Captain Marvel 2, so having her as a version of Ms. Marvel is still possible.

On the same day the petition came back to life, Brie Larson announced she had some demands to be met if she is to be a part of Avengers 5. Though the exact time frame for Captain Marvel 2 and Phase 5 have not been fully announced, Brie Larson stated she wanted to make the same money as her Avengers co-stars. Rumor also has it that Marvel wants Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to take on the lead of the Avengers going forward, though the most likely road has Captain Marvel and Spider-Man in a co-learship role similar to Iron Man and Captain America. Brie Larson was payed much more the first Captain Marvel movie than Robert Downy, Jr. was for Iron Man, so the call for more money seems misplaced. How will Marvel handle the demand?

Much has been made previously about Kevin Feige deciding to bring Captain Marvel into the MCU so late in the game. Rumors between Brie Larson and Elizabeth Olson started quite soon with some stating Olson was not happy her Scarlet Witch character was placed behind Captain Marvel. The announced Disney+ show Wandavision has helped to alleviate some of the bad feelings, but it is a cosmic wonder as to their roles in the MCU phase 5. Tony Stark may also return as some manner of a hologram and give advice to Peter Parker and Carol Danvers. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is wide open for the future.

Learning To Love Old Man Luke – Reliving The Last Jedi Of Disney Star Wars

The Disney Star Wars trilogy has divided the fans of the original movies into many camps. No other movie is more divisive of the fans than The Last Jedi. Many fans did not care for Rian Johnson’s subversion of expectations and a measuring contest with J.J. Abrams. The Last Jedi closed many of the things The Force Awakens left open, perhaps the most egregious being the removal of Snoke which left a hole were the main antagonist had been. Once people watched The Last Jedi, many wondered where the story could go next. Was the Disney Star Wars trilogy actually over now?

Enter The Rise Of Skywalker.

J.J. Abrams retconned and undid many of the failings of The Last Jedi. So much was rushed and packed into The Rise of Skywalker, many viewers left the theater out of breath. Once she had taken the last movie of the Disney Star Wars trilogy in, Donna Dickens returned to The Last Jedi and re-evaluated the movie Rian Johnson had created. Through the backward lens of hindsight, Donn Dickens was able to appreciate the Last Jedi in a new light, including learning to love old grumpy cat Luke Skywalker. So much so, she wrote a blog post about the experience, using Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb as inspiration for the title. By the way, if you have not seen Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, you do owe it to yourself to watch it. Peter Sellers is fantastic.

Join along as Brainmuffin reads Donna Dickens’ article about what she now sees in The Last Jedi. Is she reading too much into the Rian Johnson film? Are these connections with the Rise of Skywalker and the Force Awakens really in the film? Are these connections nothing more than well created fan fiction to help understand a horribly written and edited movie? Are Rian Johnson’s subversion of expectations brilliant plot devices or should they be seen as incoherent ramblings of a mad man? Listen to Brainmuffin read the article and leave your feedback in the comments.

Donna Dickens article might push too far into Star Wars explained, though she does let J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson’s movies align more than many fans, most notably Geeks and Gamers, allows. Kathleen Kennedy was the overseer of the sequel Star Wars trilogy and she approved the approaches and the stories. Kathleen Kennedy fired nearly as many directors as who finished their movies. The ride through the new Star Wars era has been and odd one. While the movies brought in good money, except Solo: A Star Wars Story, the merchandise sales have plummeted to all time lows and Disney is not getting the money they expected when they bought the cash cow from George Lucas.

Young adult fiction fans really want Kylo Ren and Rey to be together romantically. If Kylo fully turned back to the Light side of the Force, should be now be called Ben Solo? If Rey was honoring his sacrifice and she was aligning to her statement to him as wanting Ben’s hand, should she have said her name is Rey Solo instead of Rey Skywalker at the end of The Rise Of Skywalker? As for nicknames for the pair, Reylo works much better than ReyBen. Perhaps in the next season of The Mandalorian, Baby Yoda will give Reylo a proper name.

WILL THE REAL CAPTAIN MARVEL 2 WRITER PLEASE STAND UP? WHERE IS KELLY SUE DECONNICK? KEVIN FEIGE?

Previously it was reported that Kelly Sue DeConnick was writer for Captain Marvel 2. Not much was known about Kelly Sue DeConnick and the article on SausageRoll even had Comicsgate incorrect. The latest reports now have Megan McDonnell as the writer. Megan is a writer for the Disney+ show WandaVision and has some familiarity with the MCU and the Marvel characters. How well will she writer for Captain Marvel 2?

Kevin Feige has stated which MCU properties will be a part of phase 4 and phase 5. It has also been released by Marvel which ones will be shows on Disney Plus. Interestingly, where Captain Marvel 2 fits into the plans has not been revealed. The best guess is that it will be in MCU Phase 5.

The Hollywood Reporter is one of several sources for Megan McDonnell being the writer for Captain Marvel 2. Here is the source article from the Hollywood Reporter:

The End of the bond Girl

Since the start of the James Bond film franchise, woman have played an important role in the life of 007. Sometimes they met untimely ends such as Jill Masterson in Goldfinger, while other times they wanted to kill James Bond, Xenia Onatopp in GoldenEye or Elektra King in The World Is Not Enough. Each had their role and each made their contribution.

In more modern times, the Bond Girl as they came to be called, are seen by some as mere bimbos; play things for James Bond to bed and discard. It doesn’t seem to matter to these people that Christmas Jones was a Doctor and gave crap back to James Bond as well as he could dish it out (Yes, she does participate in the “Christmas comes once a year” joke at the end). Perhaps they forgot that Wai Lin could fight and shot better than Bond and she kept James alive more than once. How can these women get the Bond Girl so wrong? What do they want?

The first question is rooted in third wave feminism and becomes convoluted to answer. The second is quite simple: no more bond girls. Yes, you read that correctly.

News from the set of No Time To Die has surfaced about the future of Bond Girls and the nature of his marriage to Dr. Madeleine Swann. This is the latest James Bond film and stars Daniel Craig is what should be his last time as 007. After all, Daniel is over 50 and no spring chicken. He also serves the older man, younger woman trope far too heavily.

The banning of the term “Bond Girl” from the set is not the only misgiving worrying fans. The other is about James Bond’s wife. Though James has been married before in both the books and films, after all, Ian Fleming named the character after an American ornithologist and author of the guide Birds of the West Indies. Flemming’s wife was also an ornithologist. The name James Bond was chosen as it was dull. Things were to happen to him, not from him. Having a wife that took his name and perhaps overshadowed Bond would make sense, but that’s not what the woke crowd is on about these days.

After marrying Dr. Madeleine Swann, James Bond is told by his new wife that she will not take his name. She will remain Doctor Swann, thank you very much. In the age of pure political correctness and cancel culture, there will be no more Mrs. Bond. It is Swann, Doctor Swann. Welcome to the new age, James.
