There have been many critics of Sweden‘s lack of complete shutdown of the country as many other did. Swedes did participate in social distancing, the ill and the infirm were quarantined away from others, and some businesses closed voluntarily. Sweden chose to pursue herd immunity in a controlled fashion. The critics claimed a catastrophe would await Sweden.
The evidence is still early, but it is showing that Sweden’s approach may have been correct. They do not have near the mortality rate as other countries, their economy did not collapse, their hospitals were not over run, and now life is starting to move back to normalcy. Was Sweden correct all along?
