Rise Of Skywalker Retconned Disney Star Wars – Scott Mendelson

The Rise Of The Skywalker Retcon

The wondrous Scott Mendelson is back with more Star Wars columns. Apparently, during these times of no new movies, he is going to bring up The Last Jedi once a month. That is not only good for Scott Mendelson, but will give Channel Dad Bryon Lape something to read incorrectly for a Star Wars video.

Though many fans likes The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi completely split the fan base. Rian Johnson tied up, ended, reworked, and nearly completely destroyed all the handing threads J. J. Abrams left after episode 7. When it came to create The Rise of Skywalker, J. J. had to retcon so much of what Rian did. Many fans see it that way, but Scott Mendelson does not. For him, The Last Jedi did not retcon the Star Wars saga, but the Rise of Skywalker did. J. J. Abrams’ episode 9 was so bad it undid the entire Skywalker saga.

Doctor Who: Massive New Time Lord Story

Many Doctor Who fans miss Chris Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor Who and want to see more adventures with him. ScreenRant is reporting the BBC is working on a huge new Time War story that will feature not only Chris Eccleston’s Doctor, but those of McGann and Tennant. Rose Tyler is also believed to be a part of this event.

Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads an article from ScreenRant about a new Doctor Who even that the BBC has announced, but no details have been released. What is known for sure is the story will take place in the timeframes of the Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Doctors.

The new Time War story will not be on BBC television, but cover nearly all other types of media including books, VR games, role-playing games, and escape rooms. The huge venture is a joint effort among BBC, Penguin Random House, BBC Books, Titan Comics, Doctor Who Magazine, Big Finish productions, BBC Audio, Eaglemoss Hero Collector, Immersive Everywhere, Maze Theory, and Escape Hunt.

Elizabeth Hurley SADDENED BEYOND BELIEF By Death Of Ex Steve Bing

Usually posting happy or swimsuit images to Instagram, Elizabeth Hurley took to the social media platform to verify the death of her ex-partner, and father of her son Damian, Steve Bing. She was shocked and sadden by the news. Steve Bing died when he fell from his apartment building in Los Angeles, California.

Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads several articles confirming the sad news of the death of Steve Bing. He was a bit more than an ex of Elizabeth Hurley. Steve Bing inherited $600 million from his grandfather while at Stanford. He dropped out of college to found Shangri-La Entertainment and became a film producer.

Steve Bing produced films such as “The Polar Express” starring actor Tom Hanks and “Beowulf” with Ray Winstone and Angelina Jolie. He also co-wrote the 2003 comedy “Kangaroo Jack”.

Steve Bing was 55.

Daisy Ridley Wonders Where The Love For Star Wars Went

The era of Disney Star Wars started hot out of the gate with The Force Awakens. The J. J. Abrams directed movie not only reached $1 Billion quicker than any movie in history, it was the first to cross $2. There was a small minority of fans who did not like it, but most loved it and the stain of the prequels was scrubbed from their minds.

Rogue One was released a year later and it did well, being outside the regular numbered anthology and bridging part of the gap between episodes III (The Revenge of the Sith) and IV (A New Hope). Even a few of the detractors of The Force Awakens liked it and there was high belief that Disney Star Wars would be good.

Then came The Last Jedi. The Rian Johnson penned and directed episode VIII divided the fan base like no other film. The shine on Disney Star Wars was forever tarnished and for many fans, the ride was completely over. The love affair that had started with good will and high hopes from J. J. Abrams and The Force Awakens was gone in a single movie. The cast felt it was well.

Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads an article about Daisy Ridley and her observance as the fans of Disney Star Wars started with Love and then vanished. Daisy Ridley astutely asks, “Where did the Love for Star Wars go?” By the time The Rise of Skywalker was released to theaters, the vast majority of fans were gone.

The last installment of the Skywalker saga costs far more than any of the other episodes and brought in less money than any of the other Disney Star Wars saga movies. It took a long time to get over $1 billion, but dropped 30% from the gross of The Last Jedi.

What was your ride with Disney Star Wars? Are you one of the few who enjoyed all of the movies (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker)? Did you feel for Daisy Ridley and believe the ones who dislike Star Wars the most are the fans? Is there no way to get past A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of The Jedi? Where is the love for Star Wars?

The fans are not the only ones who dislike Disney Star Wars. Recently John Boyega has also thrown shade at Disney Star Wars. It is not fully certain if he is echoing some fans or trying to save his career, but there are many who agree that Disney did not use Finn as they should. Finn had the potential to be an incredible character in the Disney Star Wars Saga, but they chose to make him the butt of jokes. The Force should have awoken in Finn and be why his First Order training to did hold. His struggle for self-identity could have been a powerful journey, but J.J. Abrams chose not to do that and Rian Johnson made Finn a worse character. So much potential lost.

Perhaps George Lucas should have stopped after making the first Star Wars movie and not make more. Perhaps the Return of the Jedi in 1983 should have been the last Star Wars movie. It is hard to say, but now there are more Star Wars movies that are disliked than those that are loved.

Jeremy of Geeks + Gamers loves to rant, usually about Star Wars and Lucasfilm. Channel Dad Bryon Lape is a founding member of The Fandom Menace, so why doesn’t he rant more? He personally knows Jeff of World Class Bullshitters and has recorded videos with him. Bryon Lape also knows the other members of the World Class Bullshitters and brought the fans together to create the podcast called The Fan Caste. He is older than Uncle Ethan as well. So why not rant more?

Ranting is negative energy and all it brings is more negativity. Jeremy may grow the Geeks and Gamers channel with his style and that is good for him. Jeff takes a more middle of the road approach with the World Class Bullshitters, but it is his factual toy videos, in particular the Star Wars toys, that has made his channel grow quite well. Channel Dad Bryon Lape takes a more positive approach to his channel and covers items that interest him. This does include Star Wars, the MCU, and other Pop Culture items, but it is not limited to that realm. Bryon Lape is also interested in Fitness, Health, Photography, Computer Generated Images (check out his DAZ Studio attempts….and yes, he is learning Blender), and Beer (craft beer and making beer). That is why his channel is varied.

But why the name “Channel Dad”? Why does Bryon Lape use that so much that he renamed his channel to reflect it? That is a most excellent question. When he decided to create a Blue Ocean Strategy for his channel, Bryon Lape decided to connect people and ideas. Though he does interviews from time to time, it is not a main thrust of his channel. Finding people with different ideas and connecting them with others is what he does best. The connecting is a talent Bryon Lape has had for years. When Jeff Hicks of the World Class Bullshitters gave him the title of “Channel Dad,” it was due to him driving the group to various events and connecting them with others.

The Blue Ocean Strategy that Bryon Lape creates gives a more balanced approach to various pop culture events, even as Jeremy of Geeks + Gamers rants. Jeremy’s energy is balanced by Channel Dad’s moderated approach, giving members of the Fandom Menace a scale upon which to measure their own impressions. This is obvious from his Star Wars, DCEU, and MCU videos, but what about all the other stuff??

The Beer reviews are popular with World Class Bullshitters fans, in particular the ones in which Jeff Hicks appears. The two more watched reviews have Jeff and Kendo Slice joins in one of them. Want to see the various members of the World Class Bullshitters in more videos like this? If so, asking Jeff will not get it done as that is not the type of content he creates for his channel. Such content can only be recorded by Channel Dad Bryon Lape and released on his channel. It is only on the Bryon Lape channel that such desperate content can be created.

Very well, but what of Jeremy of Geeks and Gamers? Though he likes fitness, Channel Dad Bryon Lape is not really into watching sports, so perhaps the two of them can make Yoohoo! reviews. On the other hand, it may make since for Channel Dad and Geeks + Gamers to debate the further implications of the downfall of Pop Culture.

The Out Of This World Captain Marvel Costume

When Carol Danvers was with the Kree and before she was Captain Marvel, her costume was a base green and black. She later changed the colors with the help of Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Maria Rambeau. There are various concept art images available and one created by Constantine Sekeris has been released. Constantine’s idea for Captain Marvel in her Kree days was out of this world and had a very alien look.

Katee Sackhoff’s Shirtless Handstand Challenge Response – Channel Dad Reacts!

The shirtless handstand challenge is going around the Internet. Not sure if it started with Tom Holland or not, but he did own in it pretty hard. Katee Sackhoff of the Battlestar Galactica reboot was challenged by Smallville’s Laura Vandervoort to perform the shirtless challenge. Katee recorded a video, with two dogs in tow, of herself doing the challenge and placed it on her Instagram account.

Why Captain Marvel Brushed Off Thanos’ Headbutt – Carol Danvers Leads MCU Phase 5

In the climatic battle between Thanos and the Avengers, they are all pinned down as Thanos’ ships rain fire upon the field. Suddenly, their guns aim upward toward something entering the upper atmosphere. It is the arrival of Captain Marvel. She takes down Thanos’ ships, gets the gauntlet from Spider-Man and flies toward Thanos. They fight.

In the fight between Thanos and Captain Marvel, he headbutts her. Carol Danvers is barely phased during the encounter and she seems to be gaining energy, why? Thanos was taken on Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man, barely receiving a scratch. How is Captain Marvel able to take the headbutt from Thanos and still live? How is Carol Danvers so powerful?

Could it be the Infinity Stones? Her power comes from them, are they charging her up?

Channel Dad Bryon Lape reads an article by Brandon Zachary on CBR.com discussing how and why Captain Marvel is so powerful against Thanos. He is not able to defeat her and has to use one of the Power Stones in order to punch her out of the movie.

Brie Larson entered the MCU as Captain Marvel in her own movie, but Infinity War and Endgame were created before the Captain Marvel movie. As MCU Phase 5 comes to life, it is most likely that Carol Danvers will be the single leader of the Avengers.
